Haddin hundred seals first innings honours

A scintillating hundred by Brad Haddin has ensured that the New South Wales Blues have gained first innings points in their Pura Milk Cup match against the Victorian Bushrangers at Junction Oval in Melbourne.

At stumps the New South Wales Blues are 7/373, which is a first innings lead of 138. Krejza and Nicholson are the not out batsmen.

The two stars of the Blues innings were Simon Katich and Brad Haddin. Katich (78) would have been keen to impress selectors after he was left out of the 12 man Australian squad for the entire series against the Kiwis. Considering the current form of the Australian batting lineup, one feels as though Katich may be destined for a long stint of captaincy at domestic level.

Brad Haddin stole the show, and with it any possibility of the Bushrangers escaping with first innings points. At one stage the Blues were floundering at 6/209, still 26 runs in arrears of the Victorian total. He went on to score a masterful 154 off only 162 deliveries and thus giving the Blues the upper hand at the end of Day 2.
